Urbain founded Smile Sail in 2024 and Smile Invest in 2017. Before that he was co-founder, chairman and CEO of LMS, which was successfully sold to Siemens in 2012. He was board member at Gimv during 12 years, of which 5 years as chairman and served on the board of several other companies in the technology and financial services sectors. He is honorary chairman of VOKA, the Flemish Employees Organisation and chairman of Flanders Make, the strategic research center of the manufacturing industry.
