Joost joined Smile Sail at the beginning of 2025. Joost has over 20 years of international experience in private equity, operating, and consulting roles. Before joining Smile Sail, he was Global Head of M&A and partnerships for ACT commodities, led the Private Markets team (USD 2B+ portfolio) for Clermont Group based in Singapore, and was Business Transformation Officer at Unit4 when it got delisted by Advent International. Over the years he made multiple software investments across three continents.
Joost started his career as a strategy consultant and worked at the Amsterdam, London, and Dubai offices for McKinsey and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Joost has three children. In his free time, he enjoys kitesurfing, football and skiing.
